Submersion Festival Delivers (Once Again) With Ridiculously-Stacked Phase Two Announcement

Written by: Dan Warren

The premier East Coast festival experience is back in a big way. Submersion Festival will be returning to the illustrious Paradise Lakes Campground in Hammonton, New Jersey for the fourth consecutive year in early October to celebrate five years of rare, iconic performances, next-level production, eye-opening art, and a beautiful community that has grown year after year.

Attendees are in for a real treat this year. Submersion announced its Phase Two lineup earlier this week with some legendary additions to an already-stacked lineup. Dubstep heads are beaming with excitement with the announcement of Digital Mystikz (Coki + Mala) as well as a special b2b performance featuring The Widdler and Thelem. These pioneers join additional heavy hitters Ternion Sound, Chief Kaya, and Enigma Dubz.

Submersion continued its impressive streak of bringing in some of the finest and rarest drum & bass talent that this country’s festival scene has to offer with names like BCee, Bachelors of Science, and the U.S. debut of Buunshin. They join an impressive roster of previously-announced acts, including Break, K Motionz, Vibe Chemistry, the U.S. debut of Monrroe, as well as a DnB sunrise set from Ivy Lab.

In the weeks that followed the conclusion of last year’s festival, attendees made it known that they wanted to see more UKG on the lineup. The Submersion organizers clearly listened to these requests with the additions of Champion and SHOSH, joining some electrifying names in this space such as Conducta, Main Phase, Bushbaby, and a garage set from Plastician

Additional Phase Two names that caught our attention include Gentlemens Club, K.L.O., Kursa & Alicia Kiah (who released one of my favorite albums of 2025 so far in Nisky Hill), an elite showcase of turntablism featuring Craze x Chris Karns, as well as the return of VCTRE, Justin Martin (performing a sunrise set), and Chef Boyarbeatz (performing a downtempo yoga set).

As you can probably tell, there is always so much to unpack from the Submersion lineup. Before Phase Two was announced, there was already a lot of excitement brewing when names like Mickman, BLAAP (Of The Trees + Freddy Todd), EAZYBAKED, Saka, Taiki Nulight, and Machinedrum were unveiled. The lineup also includes a couple of epic daytime parties featuring gRLL sMTH (the ultimate BBQ and Beats event presented by kLL sMTH) and The Craw Boil presented by crawdad sniper.

Whether you are catching a vibe at the Beach Stage or getting entranced at the Woods Stage underneath the iconic disco ball, this year’s Submersion is shaping up to be an incredible event that you won’t want to miss. Outside of the music, Submersion will also have a fantastic display of art installations throughout the festival grounds, live painters, vendors, and more surprises.

While there are so many incredible things to look forward to at this year’s Submersion, one very important detail has been on the minds of attendees, artists, and organizers for the last several months: keeping the sound at full volume for the entirety of the festival. Last year’s Submersion presented some challenges with residents in the surrounding area complaining about the sound during the late night sets. This forced the festival to cut the subs and have a number artists play at reduced volume to prevent the event from shutting down completely.

The sound systems that Submersion deploys are world-class and bring the energy of the festival to new heights. When there is an opportunity to present U.S. debuts and other rare acts, attendees obviously want to experience those sets at full volume to get the maximum amount of value out of all of the incredible things that Submersion offers. With that being said, the Submersion organizers have done a great job at creating open forums for discussion, allowing attendees to voice their concerns, present new ideas, and share information that may not have been known otherwise. The reduced sound issue was a big topic of discussion in the aftermath of last year’s festival with the organizers stating that they were already in talks with Hammonton city officials on how to come to a solution that’s suitable for all parties involved.

When Phase Two was announced on Monday, the organizers provided some hopeful reassurance when asked if there would be reduced volume again this year, stating: “No. Full detailed sound plans coming soon. We are very confident [that] this year will be dialed in and you’ll be very happy with the adjustments :)” It’s clear that the Submersion team genuinely listens to their fans and works tirelessly to provide the best experience possible. It was very encouraging to see them proactively address the sound concerns this early in the planning process (beginning a couple weeks after last year’s event concluded).

We are so excited to see what this year’s Submersion has to offer. Be sure to follow the festival across socials to stay up to date on all of their upcoming announcements, including the VJ lineup and pairings, daily lineups and set times, and more.
