F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3 is here! If you recognize the producer tags ”trapaholics” or “real trap shit” or “hoodrich bitch” or “damn son, where’d you find this?” – then this new album cleverly disguised as a mixtape from Skrillex will undoubtedly hit you with all types of nostalgia. Although it’s fun and playful and full of host-dj-narration (and hell even the title is funny), there are still so many pockets of unadulterated bass explorations that it manages to take itself seriously, too.
Skrillex announced the project the day before it was released, surprising fans with a download and quickly following it up with the drop onto all streaming platforms. F*CK U SKRILLEX delivers an impressive 34 songs with continuous playthrough to really enhance the mixtape feel. Each track is only around a minute give or take, which really keeps you on your toes as a listener. The styles he encompasses throughout the project are really diverse as well. I don’t think I fully appreciated how many turns it takes until the second playthrough because of how well it’s curated from front to back.

It’s really crazy to think about how far Sonny Moore has taken the Skrillex project, from his days playing and touring with From First To Last at places like Vans Warped Tour in the early 2000’s. From First To Last is exactly how Sonny intended this new album to be digested – in its entirety from beginning to end. In 2025 it doesn’t surprise me anymore when I’m reminded that people don’t do this naturally anymore with albums, so props to Skrill for reminding people to do so!
The features on the album are pretty expansive and include a lot of artists I was previously unfamiliar with. Joker, Space Laces, Virtual Riot & G Jones are a few of the artists I was familiar with. A few artists like swedm®, Nakeesha & Dj Smokey are each officially featured on multiple tracks throughout the 46-minute runtime. As if this album wasn’t enough… the following day he announced a 5-hour set at Red Rocks next month on May 13th. The rollout of these two things this week was pristine and polished as we have come to expect from Skrillex. Even if you’re like me and you’re an “old” fan, or haven’t listened in forever, or just haven’t heard anything that’s caught your attention in a while – I recommend checking out the F*CK U SKRILLEX project when you can!
